Skate Park Meeting
11/18/08
From 5-6pm at the Lincoln Town Hall

Attendees: Seth Hamel, A.D.A.P.T.; David McGhan, Morgan Clark, Ryan Sousa, Zach York, Dan Shamberger, Tanya Patterson, Tara Tower, Recreation Director; Peter Joseph, Town Manager; Rick Kelley.

Seth presented the results of the needs assessment that the Lin-Wood students participated in. The results pointed to four activities/facilities that they would like to have available to participate in. These were: A fitness club, a climbing wall, a skate park, and seasonal (spring & fall) open hours for the Kanc Rec. Area.

Seth explained that the fitness club is a group that will participate in different physical activities after school or in the evenings. He added membership rates for the mountain club, and said that this will start December 1st.

Seth explained that for the climbing gym they would be working with the Rock Barn in Plymouth to use their facility. This will include shuttling students to the Rock Barn on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-8:30pm.

Tara and Sean have been working on the details of having the Kanc Rec. Area game room open during the spring and fall with A.D.A.P.T. providing the staff person to supervise.

The Skate Park was discussed at length. It was decided that we should start with a completion date, and then work backwards with a list of items that need to be completed for this to work.
